UP IN FLAMES đĽ

Let Go the Pain, Let Joy Remain
Hey guys, itâs been a little while since I wrote here but Iâm back with a new topic! Wahoo! đ
Some things weigh us down and need to go.
And today, weâre lighting them Up In Flames.
Have you ever found yourself weighed down by more negativity than good vibes?
I have. And I know Iâm not alone.
Thatâs why this post is close to my heart. Itâs time we talked about what to do when it feels like the clouds are winning.
Iâve been in a place where I felt completely overwhelmed, like my mind was stuck in a loop of heavy thoughts. Iâd try to push them away, but they came back like pop-up ads. Unwanted. Persistent. Exhausting.
So I tried different things:
Crying? Been there. Felt worse.
Talking to someone? Yes, but who really listens?
Pushing it to the back of my mind? Chuckles, we wouldn’t be here if that worked.
Music? Always, but why is every song on my playlist a sad one? đŠ
Each method gave a little comfort, but none brought peace.
Until I tried something I hadnât before.
I took a piece of paper.
I wrote down every thought that was weighing me down every insult, every disappointment, every fear.
I cried a little.
Then I folded that paper, lit a flame, and watched it burn.
Up In Flames. đ¤
As that paper turned to ash, I felt something shift. A kind of quiet relief. A moment of lightness. My face, without asking me, curved into a genuine smile.
Just… donât burn your fingers, okay? đĽ
Let go of the weight, my friend.
Whether itâs fake friends, a broken relationship, hurtful names, life struggles, or the pressure youâve placed on yourself, release it.
Write it down. Burn it. Tear it. Shred it. Release it.
Cry. Speak out. Listen to music. Binge-watch your comfort show. Take a walk.
And yes, burn it up, if you must.
Because healing looks different for everyone, but it always begins with a choice to let go.
Letâs choose positivity. Letâs shake off the past, break out of our cocoons, and bloom into the joy we deserve.
Thereâs nothing more powerful than a person who has learned to smile again and whose smile lights up others too.
This world? It’s hard. But it gets softer when we hold each other with care and compassion.
And if youâve ever found yourself spreading negativity whether knowingly or not, itâs never too late to shift.
A kind word. A listening ear. Choosing peace instead of pride. These small acts ripple further than you know.
Letâs not be the reason someone gives up.
Letâs be the reason someone believes again.
Be the change.
Be the positive change.

For The Men Out There…

“Strong, But Silent: Why Our Men Deserve to Be Heard Too”
From yesterdayâs reminder to our ladies about being seen, comes a heartfelt message for the men who often feel invisible too.
We talked about what it means to feel like just another moment in someoneâs story â easily forgotten. But here’s the truth: our men feel this too. They just don’t always have the space to say it.
Society has told men that being strong means being silent. That real men donât cry, donât complain, and certainly donât talk about how much theyâre hurting. But how fair is that? How healthy is that?
We often check in on women, on each other, when we seem down. But when was the last time you asked a man in your life, âAre you okay? Really okay?â Many men are silently shouldering pressure to provide, to protect, to keep it all together. Yet in doing so, theyâre taught to suppress the very emotions that make us human.
When I was reflecting on my own need to feel seen, and the need for women to feel appreciated, I realized â many men just want the same. To be told theyâre more than their paycheck, more than their physical strength. That theyâre appreciated. That theyâre loved, even when theyâre vulnerable.
Iâve felt what itâs like to be remembered for a moment but not valued as a person. To feel like an accessory in someoneâs story. I donât want anyone else â especially our men â to carry that feeling quietly.
So hereâs what Iâm saying today: if youâre a man reading this, your feelings are valid. You are allowed to break down. You are allowed to rest. You are allowed to say âIâm not okayâ â and still be strong.
And to everyone else: letâs be gentle with our men. Letâs check on them the way we check on our girls. Letâs give them space to express, without mocking, silencing, or shaming.
At Kena, weâre committed to emotional care for everyone. Healing is not just for some. It’s for all. Letâs help our men heal too.
It’s mental health awareness month, surprise the men in your life with Kena’s gentleman’s kit, because, why not? It’s time to provide the men that platform to speak out.Â

” To every man who’s been told to hide his feelings: your heart is not a burden, it’s a strength.”Â

For The Ladies Out There…

đ¸ A Gentle Reminder: You Are Already Enough
In todayâs world, itâs so easy to fall into the trap of comparison â whether itâs how we look, what we do, or who we love. But what happens when you start to feel invisible, like just another face in the crowd?
When someone you once shared moments with no longer sees you â not even with a simple âhiâ â it can be quietly heartbreaking. Many women have been there. This is a gentle reminder for anyone whoâs felt forgotten, overlooked, or not quite âenough.â
Maybe youâve caught yourself comparing your body, your face, or your journey to someone elseâs. Maybe youâve wondered if you need to look a certain way, be a certain kind of woman, or live a certain kind of life to be chosen â to be seen.
But let me tell you something tender and true:
You are not meant to fit into someone else’s ideal.
And you do not have to shape-shift to be worthy of love.
We are all uniquely beautiful â not because we match a mold, but because we break it. Your value doesnât shrink because someone else fails to see it. Their silence, their absence, their choices? They are not proof of your inadequacy. You are enough, exactly as you are. And when you begin to believe that, healing begins.
At Kena, we believe emotional care isnât a luxury â itâs a necessity. Through thoughtfully curated gifts, we remind you (and those you love) of your worth. These are more than packages â they are quiet reminders that you deserve joy, tenderness, and respect, not because someone else approves of you, but because you already are all that.
So to the woman reading this who feels unseen:
You are not a shadow. You are not a second choice.
You are the only version of you â and that is your power.
“I am not a lesser version of someone else’s dream. I am the only version of me.” ~ KarenÂ

How I Started Kena with Just Passion and Grit
When I first dreamt up Kena, I had a big vision â and an even bigger budget in mind. The kind of budget a student couldnât realistically access. I had a PowerPoint deck with a mediocre business plan and a heart full of ideas. But what I did have â and what turned out to be enough â was pure drive:
The belief that joy could change lives. That small, thoughtful gifts could become little lifelines. That even a simple gesture could remind someone they are seen, loved, and that they matter.
That belief kept the fire burning.
I started with passion â raw and real.
I started with grit, the kind you dig out from deep inside when everything feels overwhelming but your heart whispers, âDo it anyway.â
Emotional wellness felt like this big, complicated thing. But I kept coming back to one small question:
âWhatâs one thing I can do today to spread a little more kindness?â
That question became the heartbeat of Kena.
Iâve always felt â and still feel â like mental health isnât being talked about enough. Especially among the young.
I may not be able to fix everything.
But maybe, just maybe, I can offer a soft landing.
A safe space.
A pause in someoneâs day where they feel less alone.
You know that sinking feeling you get when you hear someone took their own life?
That quiet ache that sits in your chest for a while?
Thatâs the feeling that drives me, too.
No, gifting alone may not stop that from happening â but creating a space where people can feel seen, heard, and gently held… that might just bring us one step closer.
My dream isnât over yet… It doesnât end here. Bear that in mind đ
And thatâs how it began:
Late nights, sketching ideas in my notebook.
Imagining gift boxes that spoke louder than âthinking of youâ texts ever could.
Learning â and still learning â how to build a business with heart.
There were days I was scared.
Days I second-guessed myself.
Days I wondered if anyone would even understand what I was trying to do.
But each time I pictured someone opening a Kena package and smiling â even for a brief moment â I knew it was worth it.
What this journey taught me about emotional wellness is that itâs not about grand gestures. Itâs about the little things â a card, a scent, a gentle reminder: You are not alone. That joy still exists. And itâs worth protecting.
It also taught me that the best gifts arenât expensive â theyâre thoughtful. They say, âI see you.â And sometimes, thatâs all someone needs to keep going.
So if youâre reading this and thereâs a dream sitting quietly inside you â something small, something honest, something beautiful â please, start.
Start messy.
Start scared.
Start with just your passion and your grit.
Because thatâs more powerful than you think.
You matter.
Your dreams matter.
And the world is waiting for your kind of magic. â¨

Top 5 Affordable Gifts That Can Uplift Anyone
Â

At Kena, we believe that it doesnât take a grand gesture to show someone you care.
Sometimes, the smallest, most thoughtful items speak the loudest â especially on tough days.
Here are 5 simple, budget-friendly gifts you can find in our collection that are perfect for sparking a smile:
1. Beauty Face Masks
For That Instant âMe Timeâ
A calming self-care ritual in one simple packet. Whether it’s after a long day or just because, gifting someone a face mask reminds them to pause, breathe, and show their skin (and soul) some love.
2. Reed Diffusers & Essential Oils
For the atmosphere that hugs you back.
These work as a team: essential oils bring the calm, and reed diffusers carry that calm through your space. Whether you’re winding down after a long day or trying to boost your focus, a soothing scent like jasmine or lily can shift your whole mood. Itâs like a quiet therapist in the airâno appointment needed.
3. Necklaces
A Reminder They Can Wear
Sometimes, the right piece of jewelry does more than complete an outfit â it anchors the wearer to a memory, a message, or a moment. Gifting a necklace says, âYou matter. Youâre beautiful. Carry this reminder with you.â
4. Sublime Glass Tumbler
Because Hydration Is Healing Too
Itâs not just a cup â itâs a daily nudge to drink water, to sip tea slowly, to stay present. Our elegant glass tumblers are a practical, feel-good gift for someone who forgets to care for themselves while caring for the world.
5. Bath Bombs
Turn Showers into Rituals
Even the busiest people deserve a moment of stillness. These fizzing bath bombs help create that pause â refreshing and indulgent. Transform even short showers into mini spa escapes. A fizzy, fragrant treat that soothes the body and mind.
Extra Touches That Matter

A gentle reminder that even in the mess, you’re still worthy of kindness â especially from yourself

A Letter to My Overwhelmed Self
Hey love,
I know youâre tired. Not just the kind of tired that sleep can fix, but the kind that sits deep in your chest and makes everything feel like too much.
Youâve been carrying so much â expectations, emotions, pressure to keep going, to show up, to not fall apart. And yet, even in the chaos, you keep trying. Thatâs brave.
But I want you to pause. Just for a moment.
Remember this: you donât have to earn your rest. You donât need to prove your worth through constant doing. You are allowed to slow down. You are allowed to cry. You are allowed to be human.
Even when the world feels loud and your thoughts feel louder, thereâs still space for gentleness. Thereâs still space for breath. Thereâs still space for you.
This season might be hard, but it will not last forever.
You are not failing â you are simply feeling. And that is not weakness. That is proof that your heart is still open, even after everything.
So please, be kind to yourself.
Take the nap. Say no. Let the tears fall.
And when youâre ready, take one tiny, wobbly step forward â not because you have to, but because you can.
With all the love I forgot to give you,
Me.

Spreading Joy, One Gift at a Time.
Â
Why Emotional Gifting Matters
Kena was born from a simple, honest moment. I had a friend who was going through a tough time, but I didnât know how to reach out. Words felt too heavy, too hard. So instead, I chose to gift them something they lovedâsomething thoughtful, something gentle. It was a small gesture, but it made a difference. It helped. And in that moment, I realized how powerful emotional gifting could be.
In a world where more people are silently struggling with anxiety, stress, loneliness, or burnout, we need more than “just nice things.” We need reminders that weâre seen, loved, and not alone. Mental health is no longer a whisperâitâs something weâre all talking about, finally. But sometimes, words are hard. Thatâs where emotional gifting steps in.
Kena was born out of this truth: a gift can speak when you donât have the words. Weâre not just a gift shop. Weâre a soft place to land. Every Kena package is thoughtfully curated to lift moods, ease heavy days, and bring back a little joyâeven if it’s just for a moment. They speak when you canât find the words. They comfort, uplift, and remind people that they are seen, valued, and loved.
We believe in joy with depth. In giving with purpose. In healing through small acts of love.
Because sometimes, the right gift at the right time can change everything.
Because kindness matters.

A Gentle Gift for the Days That Feel Too Heavy
Some days feel too heavy. You wake up and the world feels⌠grey. Like you’re carrying a weight only you can see. If you’ve ever felt like this, you’re not alone.
We started Kena because we believe that small, thoughtful things can shift the heavinessâeven just a little. A kind message. A soft scent. A beautiful reminder that you matter.
In Kenya today, weâre losing too many of our young people to silent battles. Especially in high-pressure spacesâlike medicine school, engineering, or when you’re trying to meet expectations you didnât choose for yourself.
But what if you could receive a gift, not just on your birthday, but on your lowest day?
A simple box with a handwritten note. A bath bomb to remind you to pause. A candle that says, âYou are not alone.â
This is what the Kena Club is about.
Weâre curating small but intentional emotional care packages for students, men and women alikeâespecially those who are silently struggling. It’s not therapy, it’s not a cureâbut it’s a hand reaching out to say: âHey, breathe. You are loved.â
And sometimes, that’s all you need to keep going.
Join us in spreading light. One gift at a time.
Written with love, by Kena
